TIRANA, September 24 /ATA/- Pursuant to the decision of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Affairs and Public Administration, there was held a meeting of the working group to draft and propose amendments that reflect the Constitutional changes in the Electoral Code.
The three members of this working group, MPs Damian Gjiknuri, Klotilda Bushka and Korab Lita were acquainted with the proposals received in the Assembly, namely that of the Socialist Party and some amendments articulated by the Democratic Group.
The representative of the Parliamentary opposition Korab Lita expressed some reservations on the submitted proposals and asked for more time available to submit to the working group his proposals on behalf of the Parliamentary opposition.
The group agreed to continue its work and reconvene this afternoon to get acquainted with Lita’s proposals, in order to reach the widest possible consensus on the amendments to the Electoral Code.
The Parliamentary Committee on Legal Affairs and Public Administration has given this working group a deadline of 30 September to conclude the draft./p.s./
