TIRANA, Sept 12 /ATA/ -The work to rebuild individual homes for the quake-affected families is progressing fast as part of the government’s recovery and reconstruction programme following the devastating earthquake last year and the first newly-rebuilt houses are being delivered to the citizens.
This was announced by the State Minister for Reconstruction Arben Ahmetaj during a ceremony on Saturday as he and the Director General of the Qatar Fund for Development, Khalifa Al Kuwari, signed a Grant Agreement worth $5 million to finance the reconstruction project of two school buildings and the kindergarten 42 in Tirana, as part of Qatar pledge at the International Donors’ Conference in Brussels.
“The individual homes rebuilding programme is progressing very fast in all quake-affected areas in Tirana Municipality, as well as in 10 other worst-hit municipalities. The delivery of the new homes has already started and it will continue intensively,” Reconstruction Minister said.
Ahmetaj said that work to construct apartment buildings for the quake affected families in Tirana, Durres, Kruje, Kavaje, Rrogozhine and other areas is expected to begin in early October.
“I would like to assure everyone this is a model process in terms of time and quality, as well as a new logic about urban, social and economic development of the country,” Ahmetaj concluded.
