TIRANA, Aug 12 /ATA/ – The Mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj, who tested positive for the coronavirus around two weeks ago, has recovered from COVID-19.
“Following a two-week quarantine and medical treatment in Tirana and nowhere else, the last test showed I have recovered from COVID-19 and I am now stronger than ever to go back to a lot of work needed to be done in our capital,” Mayor Velia said today.
“It would have been utterly difficult without the insistence of Ogerta, Albana , Eugena and Alma from the Public Health Institute, who advised me to take it seriously since the very beginning, without Dr. Perlati’s dedication,” Veliaj said.
“Over the past two weeks, I made good friends and developed friendship with many patients or other recovered, I familiarized with their stories and we shared moments of this common war of humanity. This community, where I now have to do my part, will have to be more active in making others aware of the seriousness of this drama and the need to cooperate with the authorities every day,” Tirana Mayor said.
