TIRANA, Aug 5 /ATA/ – Fire fighters, troops and civil emergency crews have already fully extinguished the forest fires in the districts of Lezhe, Elbasan and Vlore.
The National Operations Centre for Civil Emergencies said Tuesday that the fire engulfing the forest in Seman, Fier municipality, has been extinguished too.
Meanwhile, the fire fighters are still inspecting the terrain to eliminate any possible fire remains that could rekindle the forest fires.
The verifications are taking place mainly in the areas with dead woods that could cause fresh fires.
“On the other hand, a damage assessment process is underway in the areas engulfed by fire over recent days. Preliminary estimations show that fires have burned 140 hectares of bushes, but forest canopies have not been damaged,” the National Operations Centre for Emergencies said.
