TIRANA, Aug 1 /ATA/ – If there is a sector feeling an immediate impact of the public investment, that sector is definitely tourism.
With beginning of August, the Albanian Investment Development Agency (AIDA) has invited citizens to spend their holidays in Albania.
From south the north of Albania, countless major, medium and small public investment have been implemented in this sector in our country.
Tourism services and offer are increasingly improving with the help of the Albanian government policies and contribution of each of us.
AIDA said Saturday that tourism is growing rapidly, with a turnover at around 45 billion lek compared to 28 billion lek in 2014, while policymakers are increasingly focusing attention on development of the country’s tourism sector.
A series of investments in tourism industry have been implemented in the past five years, notably the investments focusing on infrastructure development, which have thoroughly transformed the cities’ squares from north to south under the government’s Urban Renaissance Programme.
According to AIDA, the rehabilitation and upgrading projects start with the power infrastructure, wastewater treatment, or the significant investments in building water supply systems in the country’s tourist destinations.
In the meantime, the natural and cultural resources all over the country are an invitation to everyone for a long and beautiful summer.
The tourism sector, unlike other sectors, has a direct impact on employment and income growth within a short period of time. Public investments in infrastructure, especially in tourist areas with potential for large domestic or foreign investments, create great advantages in terms of increasing economic activity and consequently increasing employment.
The coastal southern region and city of Vlora is a typical example showing the immediate effect of public investment in infrastructure in development of tourism as a major source of income, employment and welfare.
In the past two years, the city of Vlora has become Albania’s tourism hub and its development model is being applied all over the country.
