TIRANA, July 28 /ATA/- The Assembly announced today the measures taken for protection from the COVID-19 pandemic, underlining that from the beginning of this situation it has strictly complied with all protection measures ordered by the Normative Acts of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.
By decision of the Conference of Chairmen, the duration of the plenary sessions was limited, as well as the time of discussions. Meetings of Parliamentary committees, the Bureau and the Conference of Presidents take place online. Deputies in the hall wear masks and sit respecting the physical distance, using for this purpose the other premises of the courtroom, gallery and lodges.
Also, the regular periodic disinfection of the premises of the Presidency of the Assembly and the plenary session hall was done, guaranteeing dedicated disinfection before each session.
Hygiene items are provided on an ongoing basis.
In this situation, the Assembly adds that the presence of the media in the plenary session hall is limited and, in order not to damage the transparency of parliamentary activities, this service is provided to all televisions by the Albanian Radio-Television.
“These measures have not affected the productivity and results of the work of the Assembly, plenary sessions and committees. On the contrary, in the report “OSCE Human Dimension and state responses to the Covid-19 pandemic”, published a few days ago by the OSCE / ODIHR, the Albanian Parliament received very positive assessments and was evaluated among the parliaments that responded best to the pandemic situations”, is read in the notification of the Assembly./j.p/r.e/p.s./
