TIRANA, July 9/ATA/- The Albania’s Minister of Tourism and Environment Blendi Klosi stated on Thursday that, the normative act approved by the government provides for the reimbursement of citizens within one year by tourism companies they have entered into contracts, which were not realized due to coronavirus outbreak.
In his remarks, at the plenary session Minister Klosi said that, “the normative act recently approved by the Albanian Government and submitted today to the Parliament aims to protect the customer and the citizens, who have booked and paid local or foreign tour operators for tourist services.”
“This normative act must guarantee all the Albanian citizens the vocation payments, unrealized due to the global pandemic that has forced many of the companies to suspend them. Tourism companies must realize them within a year at the same cost with the same prepaid tourist offer. If within a year the tourism company does not perform this service and the citizen does not agree, the citizen will be reimbursed by the tour operator,” Minister Klosi stressed.
Klosi stressed that this normative act protects both the citizen and the tourist business.
The Minister expressed support for the appeal of Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu. “It’s time to think about protecting people’s health. If we want to have a healthy and safe vacation in terms of survival, we must pay attention to measures and comply with the security protocols put in place to stem the spread of COVID19,” he added.//a.i/
