TIRANA, July 8 /ATA/ “ Diaspora is and will continue to remain the source of Albania’s economic stability of Albania and will soon be an integral part of political vote in the country,” Minister of State for Diaspora, Pandeli Majko, said.
The Business Chamber of Albanian Diaspora held this afternoon a presentation meeting of its activity with the participation of representatives of businesses in the Albanian Diaspora.
Majko attached high importance to the initiative for the creation of this chamber, while emphasizing that “the Albanian economy has come under the strain of the global crisis and the Albanian diaspora is and will remain the main source of economic stability in Albania.”
“The Diaspora Chamber of Commerce represents an initiative between representatives of the diaspora and the commitment of the government. It has started out as a three-year project of the Albanian Diaspora Development Fund and thanks to the commitment of its protagonists, its activity is defined by speed and quality.”
“I believe its cooperation with service and investment agencies, ADISA and AIDA, is an example that is worth mentioning. I am hopeful for the Connect Albania project, which is being developed at the Diaspora Business Chamber. It started with the support of IOM office in Tirana and the Italian Cooperation. This project will promote and strengthen the mediation of the Diaspora representatives to bring foreign investments to Albania, ” said Majko.
The minister went on saying that this mechanism is a testimony to importance of Diaspora in economic development of the country.
