TIRANA, June 30 /ATA/ – The Director General of the Tax Administration Delina Ibrahimaj said Tuesday that the post-earthquake reconstruction program will have a significant impact on Albania’s GDP growth.
Ibrahimaj said in a televised interview that the reconstruction process has already started and major construction and housing projects will yield initial effects on employment and the GDP growth this year.
“The reconstruction process is underway and we expect it will render its effect starting this year with a significant impact on the GDP and economic growth. The GDP growth and employment will accelerate due to the reconstruction program in the quake-affected areas,” she said.
The Director of the tax administration also said that Albanian government is drafting an economic recovery plan, which will be in line with a medium-term revenue strategy. The recovery plan will also include fiscal policies to be pursued by the Ministry of Finance, both in terms of policies and in terms of good administration and increasing the efficiency of revenue growth.
