TIRANA, June 29 /ATA/- The Chairman of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha held a meeting today in Shëngjin with representatives of the tour operators and businesses.
Basha said that, “The nature is wonderful in Shengjin, while in terms of economic situation, based on the opinion of tour operators, it is heavy. Today, the situation in the beaches is empty, while yesterday and the day before yesterday there was some breathing due to the influx of tourists from Kosovo, but otherwise the week is almost empty. Not even 10% of hotel rooms are occupied and the vast majority of hotels and restaurants are working at 30-40% capacity which means that 60-70% of the employees who would normally be working today, are unemployed. ”
According to him, the government only remembers only the fines and taxes, while there is zero aid.
Likewise, Basha said that there is no support for tour operators, while the situation is completely different in Montenegro, North Macedonia and Greece.
“Albania remains the only country that does not create conditions for tourist operators, but tells them to go to the bank, get a loan, pay the employees and that for everyone who deals with business, it means that bankruptcy is a step away,” he said.
Basha emphasized that, “It is necessary to have a profound change in terms of approach to the economy as a whole and tourism in particular. For tourism, the DP offers its economic plan with many-sided support “. /a.g/p.s./
