TIRANA, June 5/ATA/-Deputy Mayor of Tirana Anuela Ristani said in a TV interview that Tirana has had a green action plan long ago, focusing on the objective of reducing the level of air pollution.
“We were one of the first cities in the region, even in the whole of central and Eastern Europe. The plan is that whatever investment you make in the city, you have to do it with the objective of being respectful of the environment. What does this mean? As we saw in the time of pandemics, the most serious impact is in those cities that have not had their development with this objective “, said Ristani.
According to her, “every year in Tirana, compared to the previous year, except Covid, there are changes in improving air quality.”
“It’s about a lot of factors, not just the fact that we haven’t moved enough. We have added bicycle lanes, planted trees, because with every tree, the air of everyone is better”, said Ristani.
“River pollution is one of the most pervasive pollutants in the entire habitat,” she said. The Tirana River has been cleaned throughout its territory. The area at the end of the new Boulevard will be turned into a park “, said the deputy mayor of Tirana. /j.p/r.e/p.s./
