TIRANA, May 14 /ATA/ – By I. Vata/ “Tourism is in dire need of financial support, forgiveness or deferral of tax liabilities and review of beach tariffs,” the DP head, Lulzim Basha, said at a meeting with tour operators in Durrës.
Basha said that tourism in Durrës is undoubtedly the sector that have borne the worst brunt of pandemic and Nov 26 earthquake impact.
“To date the govt. has taken no measure to relieve the impact on tour operators, hotels and tourism business which are the main source of incomes for Durres families,» he said.
Basha added that their issues are related to lack of financial support, closure of borders and lack of coordination with Kosovo, North Macedonia and Montenegro to stimulate national and regional tourism.
