TIRANA, May 1/ATA/- Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj stated that, “We shall begin with the relaxation of measures, i.e. the gradual opening of activities to see how the epidemic goes”.
Speaking on TV about the pandemic situation, Veliaj said that, “The fact that the coronavirus curve is low is thanks to the measures taken in Tirana that have been effective since it is 1/3 of the population.”
He said that, “Based on the opening that we have done so far and the opening that we shall do on May 4 and May 11, we are many times more open than Italy.”
Velia added that, “We are at a critical juncture; we cannot give a prediction on how this situation will go if we do not relax first, to see how the epidemic will go throughout Albania and Tirana.”
“All the leaders in the world are moving in a minefield. We are using the most progressive strategy known to mankind. We had 38 percent of the staff on the ground,” he said, adding that” we have served very carefully to all those in need.” /a.g/p.s./
