TIRANA, April 25/ ATA/- After two years at a standstill, the works for the underpass project at “Shqiponja” square in Tirana have begun at a rapid pace. The project envisages building of the underpass with special lanes for buses, bicycles, and gives special importance to greenery.
Mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj inspected the works today and emphasized that thanks to the commitment of all institutions, it has become possible to start the work.
The mayor said that this is the first time of a cooperation of this nature, where the Municipality makes the project and the government makes the investment, which is also the lion’s share in all this cooperation.
Restrictive measures for the movement of vehicles as a result of COVID-19 have facilitated the works in this segment.
The underpass project at “Shqiponja” is a technical solution for the circulation of vehicles in this very busy segment, in harmony with the environment and urban development of Tirana. /a.a/p.s./
