TIRANA, April 18 /ATA/-More than 30 employees of Durrës Port Authority answered positively to the call to donate blood, to help thalassemia children.
The blood donation process was organized in the premises of Durrës Port medical center under strict health conditions conducted by the specialized staff of the National Blood Center, the Red Cross and the medical staff of Durrës Port Authority (APD).
Initially, every donor underwent a check-up of blood pressure, temperature, and hemoglobin level so that to determine the pre-donation health status.
The entire donated amount of blood will be used by hospitals for thalassemia children. Volunteer donors were joined by APD Executive Director Pirro Vëngu.
Durrës Port Authority, in cooperation with the Albanian Red Cross (Durrës branch) and the National Blood Center, has been part of the “Who donates blood, saves a life” initiative for years./ k.s // a.a /p.s./
