TIRANA, April 16/ATA/- At the today’s plenary session the Albanian Parliament approved a series of normative acts through which over 310 thousand citizens and a large number of businesses will be assisted with direct payment.
The two financial support packages provide for a fund of 13.5 billion ALL which will go to the citizens who need to meet their monthly basic needs, as their activity has been closed by order of the Ministry of Health, due to the battle against Covid-19 virus.
The first package has targeted small business, persons on state benefit and those on employment allowance.
There are 17 thousand families on state benefit that through this package will receive a twofold economic assistance pay for 3 months.
The second support package includes all small businesses that have not been shut down due to the government orders, yet have suffered economic losses and haven’t almost operated at all as a result of the Covid-19 situation.
The package also provides support to the workers of closed businesses with annual turnover of 14 million lek, tourism sector, garment and clothing industry and manufacturing businesses. //a.i/
