Çuci: Situation is constantly being monitored, we are collecting proposals for aid package

TIRANA, April 11 /ATA/- The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Bledi Çuci, held Saturday a video conference with representatives of 11 agribusiness associations, to discuss the impact of coronavirus pandemic in the agricultural sector and agro-processing industry.

Each of the representatives expressed their concerns and offered concrete proposals for mitigating the consequences of the COVID-19 crisis in the agricultural sector.

In his remarks, the Minister Çuçi stated that, he has been in constant communication with the State Police to ensure that agricultural sector faces no major challenges.

“The situation is constantly being monitored, we will continue to collect proposals for the aid package, ” Minister Çuci stressed.

Due to the suspension of the work of restaurants and tourism as a whole, there is a decrease of 30-40% in the number of slaughtered lambs and baby goats. This, according to the associations, is seen as a concern as it risks creating difficulties in managing herds and reducing milk production. //a.i/
