TIRANA, April 1 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama said on Wednesday that the next ten days will be critical in determining whether the infections would spread further or start to fade.
“The next ten days will be critical in determining the profile of the fight against COVID-19 infections and creation of a general idea over the depth of the enemy penetration,” PM Rama said in a televised interview.
The government head noted that it is impossible to predict what is going to happen in the future, “because I want everyone concentrate on the day ahead.”
“We all have the right to know everything, but what we should know above anything else is that this is a war and we should resist for existence. Life is top priority. Protecting life of everyone and everyone protecting all those around him or her is a top priority,” the Premier said.
The government head noted that the current number of infected people shows that drastic measures are bearing fruit.
“I note a feeling that it is now over and many ask why we should continue to stay at home, since the number of people who have contracted the infection is low and the catastrophic scenario didn’t materialize, because the number of victims is much lower than what this scenario predicted. But these figures show nothing as long as the enemy is still among us. Yet, these figures clearly show that our measures are working,” he said.
Speaking about the measures the government is expected to take in the coming days, PM Rama said we should be careful so that we don’t take wrong steps, since our sources are not limitless.
