TIRANA, March 31 /ATSH/ – Amid the pandemic situation, looking at the numbers in other countries, I believe we have flattened the trajectory of epidemic in our country and for me the numbers are optimistic, ”the infectious disease doctor, Pellumb Pipero, said in a televised interview.
In response to the question about the situation in infection hospital, Pipero said that infection hospital is coping with many issues, the situation there is very dynamic. There are recovering patients with COVID- 19 who will be discharged from hospital any time soon just as there are patients in serious condition that are kept on ventilators.
Pipero renewed his appeal to the citizens asking them to stay at home and avoid contacts because only in this way they reduce the numbers that need the assistance of medical staff and this is a very good thing as long as there is no medication or vaccine available. So we keep the curve in check, 90 percent of inpatient load will be handled at infection hospital without opening COVID 2 hospital, he said.
