TIRANA, March 27 /ATA/ Director General of Road Transport Services, Blendi Gonxhe, assured citizens that international and domestic freight transport is a guaranteed process.
In a televised interview, he said that the modalities have upgraded during this period.
Gonxhja said that we implement the EC guideline on freight transport which is binding for EU and WB countries.
“These recommendations also set out the creation of green corridors that are obligatory to avoid any discrimination and delays during various controls. These lanes render transportation faster by prioritizing some emergency goods, such as pharmaceutical or food supplies, ”said Gonxhe.
“There are about 269 applications for the period March 17-26 from freight transport operators for different transportation needs at home and abroad. With Italy there are 300 vehicles and 200 drivers available for freight transport. Drivers are quarantined 14 days after each route and only after this deadline are allowed to resume work. The chain also concerns distribution within the country. Medical and police controls make sure that everyone crossing into the territory of Albania will stay under quarantine for a certain period of time, ” Gonxhe said.
