No family in need will be left unattended by government

TIRANA, March 23 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama stated Monday that no family in need will be left unattended by the government.

“We are at war and when at war is not about what is going to happen, but how to save the family. The families unable to work because of stay-at-home orders due to the war will benefit what we have pledged under economic plan. While others in need for assistance, as the overwhelming majority of people need help, supplies are being delivered to their homes on daily basis and none of them will be left unattended,” PM Rama said in a media interview.

“Nobody in the Republic of Albania has been left to starve over the past 30 years, even in the 50s when people used to eat only 200-300 a day, like in the medieval times. Those who are poor than the others, certainly face shortages of food and are unable to provide enough food for their kids, but nobody has starved and nobody will be left to starve in this war too,” he said.

“Armed forces, the State Police and National Social Service form a whole organized network in the ongoing humanitarian operation led by the Minister of Defence,” Rama added.

The government head noted that every family in need has been identified and lists have been already compiled and assistance is underway.
