TIRANA, March 23/ATA/- Prefect of Berati region Valbona Zylyftari told ATA that the local authority has taken all the measures to prevent spread of the COVID-19.
They have also provided aid to 1090 persons.
While, 8,800 elderly people have received their pensions at home.
The aid has consisted of food packages, medicaments and other necessary things.
Meanwhile, the medical staff and the ambulances are on alert and there are formed the special working groups that will manage the situation in case these will be confirmed cases of the coronavirus. There has been no positive case in Berat, so far. The relevant local units in cooperation with the police are checking the persons who have come from abroad.
Zylyftari also said that the regional branch of the National Health Inspectorate in Berat has been monitoring implementation of the measures taken for prevention of the virus spread./p.s./
