TIRANA, March 21 /ATA/ – Edmond Dragoti, a leading psychology professor, on Saturday appealed to citizens to show more responsibility and adhere to the measures imposed to combat the spread of the COVID-19 in the country.
Psychologist Dragoti noted that the behaviour of certain individuals over the past days following the novel coronavirus outbreak shows a lack of responsibility for their own lives, our lives and that of others, relatives and family, friends and strangers.
“How come such dangerous behaviour that challenges the lives of everyone and society is so widespread in our Albanian society, although it is already clear that the most effective measure to cope with the most dangerous pandemic of the century is self-isolation, social distancing, personal hygiene, patience and adherence to the travel restrictions. And each of us is so aware of it. Yet, we don’t feel responsible enough to respect it,” he said.
Are we in a culture transition in need to survive the inevitable risk of a pandemic – he asked – or in unconditional surrender to it?
