Rama: Closure of borders is not advised by WHO, partial constraints

TIRANA, March 9 /ATA/ PM Edi Rama stated on Monday that the closure of borders is not advised by World Health Organization but also was not part of the experience of countries that are dealing with coronavirus outbreak.

According to PM Rama, all countries including Italy have put partial constraints on transport lines due to reasons that have been explicitly laid down in the protocol of World Health Organization.

“We appeal to everyone to stay in contact with official sources rather than be overwhelmed with negative emotions rooted in disinformation, uncertainty and panic, which is the worst possible adviser in such unusual situations,” Rama said.

PM says that there is no reason for panic.

“The official statistics and projections of the WHO clearly speak of an unstable situation yet not out of control, where maintaining calm is key to developing this step-by-step approach to the virus,” he said. With full commitment, confidence and calm we will undoubtedly face this challenge together,” Prime Minister said.
