TIRANA, March 5 /ATA/ – By Arbi Fortuzi/- As of 06:00 in the morning the National Inspectorate for Territory Protection (IKMT) has started work for demolition of around 30 objects, including houses and business facilities.
IKMT announces that in this operation they are backed up by the State Police forces that have sealed off the area known as “Astir”, and diverted traffic from this segment of the New Ring Road to guarantee the smooth operation of IKMT action for demolition of dwellings in the Astir area. Traffic is being diverted from the Astir roundabout to the former Eagle square, as vehicles move on the road linking the Astiri area with Mezez.
The operation for demolition of 30 objects is taking place in the frame of project for enlargement of the ring road.
Earlier in the frame of this project, 41 objects have been demolished as part of the first lot, otherwise known as “Shqiponja” (Eagle) roundabout.
IKMT has notified the residents about the operation for demolition of the objects and on their side there was no resistance against the demolition.
