Kurti: We take first step towards scrapping 100% tariff on Serb goods

PRISTINA, Feb 27 /ATA/ The govt. of Kosovo has decided this afternoon to take the first step as a sign of good will towards abolition of 100 percent tax on Serb goods. It was PM Albin Kurti who broke the news at a media briefing from the govt. seat.

According to Kurti, in a sign of will to normalize the relations frozen as a result of former Haradainaj govt. imposing a 100 percent tariff on Serb goods imposed by former Haradinaj govt., the first step will be scraping the tariff on raw materials from neighboring country and Bosnia-Herzegovina as of March 15. The condition for Serbia will be withdrawal from campaign against international recognition of Kosovo and the first step towards removing non-tariff trade tariff on Kosovo. If there is good will on the side of Serbia during this period, as of April 1 2020 for a period of 90 days the 100 percent tariff will be completely scrapped.

Unless the Serb side reflects, then the Kosovo govt. will restore the tariff as of June 15. The full trade reciprocity will be established after June 15.
