TIRANA, Feb 21 /ATA/ “One Step for Durres” is the tile of event that will take place on Sunday, February 23, in the coastal city as part of an awareness among citizens after the November 26 earthquake.
The march will begin at 9:30 hrs at the opening ceremony will take place near the “Alexander Moisiu” Palace of Culture to continue with the race and afterwards the winners’ announcement.
From 11:30 to 13:30, Durres will be livened up by a grand concert featuring live music.
“One Step for Durres” is a sensitizing run rather than a genuine race. More than ever, it doesn’t matter whether you walk or run, whether you cross the finish line the first or the last as long as we come together and take a step forward, ” the municipality of Durres says.
The route of marathon traverses the entire city of Durres, a distance of 5 kilometers. This marathon is not merely an awareness race, it is a promotional race for the city.
The city of Durres was the hardest hit by the devastating Nov 26 earthquake.
