TIRANA, February 18 /ATA/-During January 2020, 41 527 citizens had the free basic check-up, 13% more than the same period last year.
Since 2015, more than 1.8 million people have performed the basic check-up.
According to the doctors, the citizens are becoming more and more aware of having this check-up, because they measure for free 44 health parameters and carry out 5 evaluation tests.
“The basic check-up is of the utmost importance for the whole population to see if they are healthy or not, because the focus in the world today is on prevention and not on treatment because treatment always has a cost on the patient, the state and life”- said a doctor.
Another physician added that, “There are very few cases when the patient has been diagnosed diabetic with very high glycemia and have started treatment immediately.”
“Check-up is very important because there is a general biochemical balance that helps us diagnose certain diseases. Awareness of check-up has increased because patients are satisfied with the accuracy of the tests. There have been many patients who have been diagnosed with the disease and we have referred them to a specialist right away,” said another physician.
Another physician also stated that, “The basic medical check-up is important for the citizens because through the identification of some diseases in the early stage we have had a very good course of the disease and in some cases up to their full recovery “.
During 2019, there was exceeded the target set: 482 711 citizens carried out the basic check-up. The age group of 35-70 years receives free basic medical examination./p.s./
