Anti-informality/Ibrahimaj: Control of businesses through technology

TIRANA, January 21/ATA/- The General Directorate of Tax Office is due to re-launch control on the business, focusing this time on the construction sector, hydrocarbons, bars and hotels as well as payroll and excise tax filings.

Director General of Tax Office Delina Ibrahimaj stressed today that, “There will be in-depth interviews, detailed controls and finally we shall use the tax investigation”.

To reduce the likelihood of bribery, the Tax Office will implement a system similar to that of the police, i.e. technology control.

“Every tax inspector, both monitoring inspectors on the field and operational control inspectors will be provided with a tablet that will track location and enable automation of the penalization process. We will know both the location of the inspector and the duration of his visit,” said Ibrahimaj.

Ibrahimaj added that, “The tax administration sector plans will continue throughout the year, based on risk module elements, which are constantly being updated and automated.”/k.s/p.s./
