TIRANA, Dec 14 /ATA/ – Consumption maintained positive growth rates in the third quarter of 2019 in Albania, the National Institute of Statistics, INSTAT, said on Saturday.
According to INSTAT data, Albania’s retail sales increased by a real 3.9% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2019.
The retail sales growth was significantly driven by the motor fuel sales, with the value of turnover volume index increasing 5.0 % compared with the same quarter of 2018.
According to INSTAT, in the group of retail trade, excluding the retail sales of motor fuel, turnover volume index increased 3.4 % compared to the same quarter of previous year.
INSTATA said that the group of non-food products recorded largest expansion with the retail sales volume up by 1.9%.
The domestic is expected to be a determining factor in the performance of the country’s economy in the coming year.
