TIRANA, Dec 12/ATA/-The U.S. Government is committed to the fight against corruption and the respect for the rule of law all over the world. Fighting corruption is at the forefront of U.S. Embassy Tirana’s work in Albania.
The US Embassy in Tirana shared Thursday on the social media a video showing how the Special Structure Against Corruption and Organized Crime, or the SPAK, will operate in Albania.
“Once established, it will target high-level corruption. This video shows how the $2 million in support from the United States is being used to help ensure the SPAK is established and will operate independently, ” the US Embassy said.
The video says that the United States is committed to helping Albania build a justice system with integrity. All Albanian citizens are involved in seeking justice reforms that will lead to a transparent judiciary and accountable to the public.
The days of corrupt officials and crime bosses who were “untouchable” are coming to an end. The old days of “selective justice” will be replaced by Justice for All.
