TIRANA, Dec 10/ATA/- The Albania Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku stated Tuesday that, reforms in the energy sector are in the final stage and that dialogue with business representatives is essential.
During a conference organized by Albania’s Electricity Power Distribution System Operator (OSHEE) on the access of enterprises to the electricity grid, under the conditions of a liberalized market, Balluku stated that, “a majority of business representatives have managed to reduce their costs by up to 55%.”
Minister Balluku underlined that the Albanian government has set up facilitated procedures for these businesses.
“The biggest concern, but also the duty of the Albanian government and each regulatory entity, is to protect the citizens. The steps will be taken according to the requirements set by our partners, with the aim of providing greater consumer protection, mainly the consumers who are at risk of prices moving higher,” Balluku stressed.//a.i/
