TIRANA, Nov 30 /ATA/- The team of experts and construction engineers is inspecting in Durres the situation of buildings damaged in November 26 earthquake that struck our country and is classifying their condition according to the degree of damage.
Agron Hysenbelliu, Director of Construction Institute, in an interview with Albanian Telegraphic Agency during the verification of dwellings in the former Marshland of Durres, said: “We have been in the ground this morning dispatching engineers’ groups to all municipal units of Durres. We are combing the area by checking all the buildings that have been damaged by the earthquake.
“The act of ascertainment that we are doing defines the object as following: When the object has sustained minor damage, when the object has sustained damage to the structure and masonry, but is not in a state of collapse and when the object has sustained serious damage,” he told ATA.
According to him, in the first case permit is issued for repair and continuum of use. In the second case, the engineers should supervise construction and in third case the object is out of service.
