TIRANA, November 15 /ATA/- The Chairman of the Democratic Party (DP) in opposition Lulzim Basha gave a press conference on Friday afternoon at the party’s headquarters to accuse Prime Minister Edi Rama of seeking to capture the Constitutional Court. He also called the Parliament’s latest actions an attempt to politically control justice.
According to him, PM Rama has breached the competences of the President to appoint members of the Constitutional Court.
The DP leader said, among other things, that the current Parliament is also illegitimate and that all the laws passed by it are contrary to the interests of the Albanian citizens.
The chairman of the Democratic Party called on the ruling Socialist Party to stop the dangerous games, as he called it, with the Constitutional Court.
He reminded that the normal functioning of this institution is also one of the conditions of the Bundestag and Europe for the opening of the EU accession negotiations with Albania./a.sh./ /a.g/p.s./
