TIRANA, November 11/ATA/-At the end of a meeting of the joint opposition working group on electoral reform, former MP Oerd Bylykbashi told reporters that e-voting and counting have long been on the DP platform and there are concrete proposals regarding voting and biometric identification.
“E-voting and counting is pretty advanced. It is one of the solutions that will allow us to combat vote buying, the control of electors through pressure, the pressure and manipulation at the polling stations. It will enable the removal of the commissioners, who by political order manipulate the elections and will also guarantee a credible, very short-term count that guarantees legitimacy and credibility of the process, “said Bylykbashi.
He added that the solutions proposed by the working group are advanced and fully feasible.
In answer to question on whether there can be a meeting point with the ruling majority, he said that “Our proposal is clear on the table, with a 5-point plan. The majority has continued unilaterally to find solutions that are rather unbelievable. What we have proposed is a mechanism that will bring together the political will of the united opposition with the contribution, presence and expertise of international partners. But, until today the ruling majority doesn’t care. However, the opposition is drafting solutions that are fully in line with OSCE / ODIHR recommendations. ”/p.s./
