TIRANA, November 1/ATA/On Friday afternoon, there happened an assassination attempt against Prosecutor Arjan Ndoja.
Durrës police reported that the assassination attempt against Ndoja happened along Durrës – Tirana road in the vicinity of Shkozet overpass at about 16:30.
The prosecutor was travelling in a car together with two other citizens who remained wounded in the shoot-out incident.
It is reported that Prosecutor Ndoja is out of risk for his life.
Durrës Police is pursuing the perpetrators and there are set up points of control along all the roads connecting Tirana with Durrës.
The Police has also set up a special investigative group on the case and would appreciate every information on the event.
According to media reports , one of the persons travelling in the car together with Prosecutor Ndoja, Aleksandër Laho, is a suspect of being involved in criminal activity and has changed several times the identity. He is also suspected in beating incident of a businessman from Lebanon who was going to invest in Lalzi Bay tourist complex. The other person in the car, Andi Maloku, has been a former police officer in Kruja police station and used to be the driver of the car.
According to media reports, Ndoja used to work before becoming a prosecutor as a lawyer and has defended people involved in the world of crime.
Prime Minister Edi Rama and Deputy Prime Minister Erion Braçe reacted to the event.
Braçe considered the case a criminal pressure related with legalization process of apartment blocks.
On his part, PM Rama said, “Unfortunately, we are seeing that cleansing of the judiciary has a temporary negative impact, but serious on the citizens. Many prosecutors and judges are involved and are aware they can’t succeed over the vetting, but make use of their office under the motto “let’s gain what we can”./a.g/p.s./
