TIRANA, Oct 30 /ATA/ – By I. Vata/ The principles of gender equality and gender responsive budgeting were the topics of two-day workshop organized by the People’s Ombudsperson, UN Women and Commissioner for Protection against Discrimination.
The Ombudsperson Institution / General Section, in cooperation with UN Women and the Commissioner for Protection against Discrimination, in the light of integration of gender perspective in policies and mid-term budget programs, is holding a two-day training entitled “Principles of gender equality and overall gender budgeting.”
“The purpose of this training is to raise awareness about the necessity of integrating gender perspective into mid-term budget plans and to strengthen the role of the Ombudsperson Institution in monitoring the fulfillment of the central and local authorities’ obligation to design and implement gender responsive budgeting, ”PA sources say.
