TIRANA, October 28 /ATA/- Albania’s Minister of Tourism and Environment Blendi Klosi stated today that two years ago Albania launched “Clean and Green 2020” strategy targeting to have a cleaner Albania by 2020.
Speaking at the “UN Day Albania 2019” event in context of 74th anniversary of the UNO, Minister Klosi said that we have tried to make different legal mechanisms and much more on the ground. And there has been a citizen protest against actions that damage environment.
According to him, the environmental crime is now considered a penal crime.
Further on, Klosi pointed to the skeptics who questioned that Albania can become the first European country without plastic bags. “But, now there are 50% less plastic bags in our country”.
Klosi said that the objective is June 1 for Albania to be the country without plastic bags.
