TIRANA, October 25/ATA/-The Deputy Speaker of the Albania’s Parliament, Vasilika Hysi received Thursday in a meeting the UNFPA Regional Director, Alanna Armitage, accompanied by Rita Columbia, UNFPA Country Director for Albania.
Hysi praised the contribution of United Nations agencies and emphasized the need for further cooperation in areas of common interest such as law enforcement on youth, the elderly, women health, violence prevention, and in particular the appropriate preventive measures for domestic violence, at the local level.
During the meeting it was discussed the need for greater attention to parliamentary scrutiny following the adoption of laws.
“Health care, birthrate initiatives and the need for public information on sexually transmitted diseases were some other topics that also received attention at the meeting,” Hysi said. //a.i/
