TIRANA, October 15/ATA/- The head of the Albanian American Development Fund (AADF) Board Michael Granoff symbolically presented today the draft of the Integrated Management of Butrinti Park.
According to him, this is a sustainable investment with Albanians and that remains with Albanians.
“After successful 10-year cooperation, we launch another challenge with the Albanian-American Development Fund (The_AADF),” said Culture Minister Elva Margariti.
“The need for an integrated management plan aroused from the need and necessity to get Butrint out of the confines of an island and turn it into the center of a series of concentric circles,” said the minister.
She added, “Butrint is just a center that generates development throughout the surrounding area, bringing benefits to all of this territory and at the same time preserving and promoting cultural heritage.”
In the end, the new plan will produce, in addition to the general management plan, a new business plan for the UNESCO Butrint area and the preparation of an updated GIS map for the entire 9,000 ha Butrint National Park territory./a.a/j.p/p.s./
