TIRANA, Oct 3 /ATA/ – President of Republic Ilir Meta stated on Thursday evening that an ongoing judicial reform should be implemented properly as it is vital for pushing Albania forward on its EU integration path.
“You should ask the EU Delegation representatives to implement the judicial reform properly so that the reform helps the country’s European Union integration process,” President Meta said on a TV talk show.
The head of state commented on the remarks traded by the leaders of the two main political parties ahead of the June 30 local elections in the country.
“In such a situation, Prime Minister knew that a decision was to be made on Albania’s bid to open the EU membership negotiations, but Albania has failed to address many obligations that have been formally named by the Bundestag members. They have asked to explore opportunities for inclusive elections, because this is vital for pushing the country on its EU integration path. How comes then the opposition decides to hold a rally in Tirana on June 16 and PM holds a campaign meeting in Berat at the same time,” Meta said.
According to President, the head of government had used a very provocative language towards the opposition.
