TIRANA, Oct 1 /ATA/ – The chair of the Socialist Party parliamentary group Taulant Balla affirmed Tuesday that the governing majority won’t backtrack on its request to dismiss President Ilir Meta from office.
Balla said he will attend a plenary session of the Venice Commission to provide evidence on the President’s actions have seriously violated the country’s constitution.
“In the constitutional law, any violation is always serious when it committed deliberately. This (violation) is not merely serious, but very serious. Ilir Meta himself knows quite well that he has seriously violated the Constitution,” Balla said.
Balla also said that the ruling SP will not consider a proposal floated by the opposition Democratic Party for a new structure on the electoral reform.
