TIRANA, September 26 /ATA/- The former “Planning and Local Governance” project manager Peter Clavelle held a meeting today with Lushnja Mayor Fatos Tushe.
The USAID local governance and planning project is a 7-year cooperation with Lushnja municipality.
Thanks to this cooperation, at present the municipality of Lushnja has a general local plan and strategy of territorial development, a computerized system for local taxes and tariffs, civic advisory committees, a 3-year action plan for the irrigation and drainage scheme, a 5-year business plan for the Water Supply and Sewerage in Lushnja.
Clavelle handed over to Mayor Tushe the brochure “Doing Business in Lushnja”, which assists the economic development department and businesses to set up communication bridges to promote the local economic development.
During the meeting, Clavelle thanked the mayor as an excellent partner in 7 years of cooperation.
On his part, the mayor assured that the experience and products of the project will serve municipal staff in their day-to-day work, in drafting future development policy documents that bring prosperity and income to the Lushnja community./k.s/ /a.g/p.s./
