TIRANA, Sept 23 /ATA/ President Ilir Meta highlighted the importance of maintaining calm and fostering the spirit of cooperation and human solidarity by all institutional, political, social and media stakeholders to bring the situation to normality in the aftermath of recent tremors.
Meta says that transparency and utmost responsibility for measuring the consequences is of crucial importance at these moments. According to him, technical assessment of houses, apartment blocks and buildings affected by earthquake is crucial for the future.
“Therefore, while appreciating the solidarity of the partner countries and of the European Union, President Meta urges the government to formally invite the International Atomic Energy Agency, which has the necessary capacities to determine the safety and resistance of houses and buildings damaged by this natural disaster. Misuse by anyone of this situation is not the right way to deal with a general concern, in a united and responsible way, in the interest of the citizens traumatized by the shocks and the consequences on their homes and properties, ” says Meta.
