TIRANA, Aug 29 /ATA/ – Two laboratories to test the medicines quality are set to complete next year, Minister of Health and Social Protection Ogerta Manastirliu said in a TV interview on Thursday evening.
“Together with the National Agency of Drugs and Medical Equipment, we are taking actions to build two laboratories that will carry out a range of tests on the drugs quality. Around 70 percent of the medicines in the Albanian market are imported from the EU member states,” Manastirliu said.
According to her, drugs imported to Albania meet quality standards and they undergo a series of strict controls and quality tests by the National Agency.
“The National Agency of Drugs and Medical Equipment has to date no reports that certain medicines have not been effective in any patient. We have to speak through facts and not misinform,” the minister said.
