TIRANA, August 23/ATA/-Analyst Eduard Zaloshnja published today the results of a survey he conducted and according to which about 855 thousand adult Albanians have a positive opinion about Prime Minister Edi Rama and 410 thousand adult Albanians have a positive opinion about the leader of the Democratic Party (DP) in opposition Lulzim Basha.
In answer to question by ATA journalist, Zaloshnja said that, “If we compare these figures with a survey conducted in the first week of August on the parties, it turns out that Rama has 150 thousand supporters more than the Socialist Party votes, while Basha has 120 thousand less supporters than the DP votes.”
“If compared with his predecessor Sali Berisha, Basha’s quota is currently 250,000 below. But, at the time when Basha replaced Berisha at the head of the DP in 2013 the situation was different. According to a survey I conducted at the time, Basha had about 810,000 supporters, while Berisha had 660,000,” said Zaloshnja.
Basha’s quota, he said, “suffered a reduction just after the 2017 elections, when the right-wing coalition suffered the most dramatic contraction in the history of pluralism (from 680,000 votes in 2013 to 460,000 in 2017).”
Zaloshnja points out that, “Basha’s personal quota plunged to 360,000, while Berisha’s remained stable at 650,000”.
“Before the 2017 elections, Basha solemnly promised he would not run unless PM Rama resigned. He did not keep his promise. Before the 2019 elections, Basha solemnly vowed not to allow voting while Edi Rama was in the office of the prime minister. But, voting took place after an ultimatum from Washington. Apparently, these empty promises and vows have reduced by half his personal quota in public opinion…,”said Zaloshnja to ATA./m.m/p.s./
