TIRANA, Aug 22 /ATA/- The wildfire that has raged for several days now in a pinewood on the hills of Surroji in Kukës has been brought under control.
Thanks to the hard word of Fire Brigade crews, the forest specialists and army forces, the blaze has been contained.
Minister of Defense, Olta Xhaçka, thanks the fire brigade for extinguishing the blaze.
“Thanks to the Kukes Regional Support Detachment in Kukës who along with fire brigade of the municipality struggled until late at night to put out the wildfire in the pinewood on Surroj hills braving the scorching temperatures and rough terrain,” Xhaçka says.
The experts will stay in the hotspot to monitor the situation.
