TIRANA, Aug 20 /ATA/ Farmers who cultivate large areas of fruit groves and water melon in the municipality of Maliq have benefited from government subsidies, also guaranteeing them access to market on a year to year basis.
This year looks promising for agriculture in this region. Today representatives of Directorate of Agriculture and Rural Development visited the village of Drithas, the Administrative Unit of Libonik, to see first- hand the production.
Farmers running apple orchards mainly Fuji and Starking varieties have received subsidies for new plantations and installation of drip irrigation. Their harvest is expected to begin soon.
