TIRANA, August 15/ATA/- A new community center for the elderly has been opened in the tourist village of Palasa.
Minister of Health and Social Protection Ogerta Manastirliu visited today the premises of the new community center. She was accompanied by Mayor of Himara Jorgo Goro.
The old people from Home of the Elderly in Tirana are set to spend the hot summer days in Palasa community center.
“Together with Himara Mayor Jorgo Goro, we opened a new community center for the elderly in Palasa. The first group of the old people from Tirana’s Elderly Home enjoy these hot summer days in this model center, an investment of the Albanian government that pays attention to the lonely old people, those who need more care and affection,” said the Minister of Health.
For their part, the elderly appreciated the conditions at the center as very good.
“The conditions are great, the rooms are great, they are very clean,” said an old man. “It looks good here,” said another.
“This is our first time. It’s perfect. We’re very satisfied,” said another.
Palasa is the first village of Himara area that appears just as one crosses Llogara Pass. Palasa village is located 50 km south of Vlora, 74 km north away from Saranda and about 210 km from the capital Tirana. Palasa is included in the municipality of Himara, part of Vlora region./z.tosku/j.p/p.s./
