Basha: Oct. 13, sole constitutional date for elections

TIRANA, Aug 9 /ATA/- The DP head, Lulzim Basha, stated that the lawful elections’ date is October 13 while ruling up the rumors about the split-up of opposition.

At a media statement, Basha said that CEC will be held accountable for disregard of President’s decree.

“The opposition has not split up. Our stand is clear. October 13 is the only constitutional date in Albania. CEC and all institutions should have executed the president’s decree. They will be held to account for their disregard,” Basha said.

“The decision of opposition to boycott June 30 elections was unanimous. Some parties have filed a request to register for elections in a bid to compel the CEC not to take anti-constitutional stands.

The stand of president is in line with the DP and allies, taking over the power via elections. Our stand on Edi Rama-organized elections has been clear, transparent, based on arguments and evidence,” Basha said.
